A local monument
The Fort Saint André, in Villeneuve-les-Avigon, boasts one of the best views of the town of Avignon. It is also a beautiful monument in its own right, famous for its medieval fortifications but also the beautiful gardens that fill half of the fort. A must see! >>>

The village of Sabran is actually made up of 8 separate hamlets. The central one, called Sabran itself, looks out over the pretty Ceze river valley, and at its summit you may visit the ruins of the castle of the medieval Counts of, you guessed it, Sabran! >>>
